7-Eleven: One-Stop Bill-Payment Shop; 7-Eleven Vcom(R) Kiosks to Offer ChoicePay(TM) In-Person Bill Payment Services

Customers Will Be Able to Pay Their Bills By Cash, Check, Credit or ATM Debit Cards

DALLAS and TULSA, Okla., June 18 -- Customers will soon be able to cash their paycheck, buy a snack and pay bills all in one stop at 7-Eleven(R) stores equipped with Vcom(R) kiosks.

Today, 7-Eleven, Inc. , the world's largest convenience retailer, announced a seven-year strategic alliance to offer in-person bill payment services with e-Money Systems, Inc. through 7-Eleven's Vcom electronic kiosks.

Vcom is 7-Eleven's in-store integrated financial kiosk that merges ATM capabilities with other services. The new service will allow 24-hour, touch- screen convenience for paying multiple bills through a variety of payment methods -- all on a single device.

Under the agreement, e-Money Systems is the exclusive provider of non-Vcom partner bill payment services to be offered at the kiosks. 7-Eleven customers can choose to pay their utility and other bills using cash, automated clearing house checking accounts, credit, ATM debit and, in the future, with 7-Eleven's stored-value Convenience Card. Receipts are issued for each payment, and the biller is notified quickly -- often in real-time.

e-Money is developing relationships with hundreds of businesses to collect their payments through Vcom.

It is estimated that 30 percent of individuals' bills are paid in person, which creates additional costs for billers to process. e-Money's high-volume, electronic bill payment system, known as ChoicePay(TM), increases payment flexibility for users and lowers remittance processing costs. ChoicePay also allows billers to receive payments via call center, interactive voice response (IVR), the Internet and self-service electronic kiosks.

"7-Eleven created Vcom to provide consumers around-the-clock access to products and services not traditionally found in convenient locations," said Jay Giesen, 7-Eleven's vice president and general manager of Vcom. "With Vcom, billers can offer a convenient and efficient payment option to their cash customers who can pay bills at the last minute, perhaps avoiding discontinuation of services.

"During focus groups we conducted last year, customers told us they wanted to cash their pay check and pay their bills at the same time," added Giesen. "e-Money's ChoicePay service is a welcome addition to our Vcom system."

"Offering ChoicePay through Vcom gives our customers an unprecedented level of convenience to pay bills," said Jim Bennett, president and CEO of e-Money Systems. "Allowing customers to pay several of their bills in one convenient location through a variety of payment methods provides the highest possible combination of convenience and customer service available today."

Currently, 7-Eleven customers can conduct ATM transactions (American Express is the primary provider of ATM transactions on Vcom), purchase Western Union money orders and money transfers, cash checks through Certegy Check Services(SM), review and pay their Verizon residential phone bills and order additional services. The ChoicePay bill payment service is expected to be available on Vcom this fall.

Approximately 1,000 7-Eleven stores in 13 states and Washington D.C. are equipped with the Vcom kiosk.
