				The weekend marks the return of the Rolex
Sports Car Series. The Grand-Am Cup Series and Formula Ford 2000 Zetec
Championship make their annual stops at Mid-Ohio. The Fran-Am 2000 Series
and the Stock Car Championship Series will make their Mid-Ohio Sports Car
Course debuts during the weekend.

RACE LENGTH:		250-miles/111-laps/2-hour, 45-minute time-limit

COURSE:			2.258-mile, 13-turn permanent road course


ROLEX SERIES 		Daytona Prototype
CATEGORIES: 	Closed-wheel, closed-cockpit purpose built race cars with
normally aspirated engines restricted for balanced performance. Each
prototype has working headlights and brake lights and a spec rear wing. The
Daytona Prototypes are powered by such manufacturers as Porsche, BMW and
Chevrolet.
				
				Grand Touring Super (GTS)
				Based upon road going, production sports
cars. Engines are production based and include normally aspirated and
turbocharged engines. Cars in this class include Camaros, Mustangs,
Corvettes, Porsches, and Molslers.
				
				Grand Touring (GT)
				Factory built race cars with 6.0-liter
maximum engine displacement. Turbocharging is not allowed in GT cars. Cars
in the GT class include the Porsche GT3 RS, Ferrari 360GT and BMW M3.

				The Grand-Am Cup Series compliments the
Rolex Series by using race cars that are actual production cars, straight
off the showroom floor with only minimal racing and safety modifications.
Grand Sport I and Grand Sport II classes feature high-end sports and muscle
cars, such as Corvettes, Porsches, BMW M3s and Nissan 350Zs. The Sport
Touring I and Sport Touring II classes feature small to mid-size sedans,
including the Acura RSX, Mini Cooper S, BMW Z4, Lexus IS300 and Acura
Integra. 


				Fran-Am 2000 Series 
				Saturday, June 28/Saturday June 29
				1:00 p.m./9:30 a.m.
				(Each race has a 30-minute time limit)
				The Fran-Am 2000 Series is the North
American version of Formula Renault - the grass roots series that has served
as a training ground for many international drivers. The Fran-Am Series is
an open-wheel "spec" series that allows drivers to compete at a low-cost
without compromising safety. The series will run a double-header during the
weekend.

				Stock Car Championship Series
				Sunday, June 29
				4:00 p.m.
				(50-minute timed race)
				The Stock Car Championship Series is an
all-road racing "stock car" series based in the southeast United States.
Cars in the series include Dodge Intrepids, Chevrolet Monte Carlos and
Pontiac Grand Prixs.

				Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship
				Sunday, June 29
				8:40 a.m.; 3:00 p.m.
				(20-laps/30-minutes; 30-laps/40-minutes)
				The Formula Ford 2000 gives younger racers
the opportunity to showcase their skills and get used to open wheeled
racing. All cars are two cylinder formula cars.
