RACE DRIVER CRAIG STANTON LAUNCHES WEB SITE
LONG BEACH, Calif., June 10, 2003 - Professional race driver Craig
Stanton, of Long Beach, announces the launch of his personal web site,
www.CraigStanton.com. The site, created by AxisStudio.com also of Long
Beach, is the official news source and information site for Stanton who
competes in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), Grand American Rolex
Series and Grand-Am Cup. Stanton, who instructs and coaches others in
performance car racing and handling when not behind the wheel of his
race car, is entering his ninth year of professional racing.
"I'm really excited about this year and we have so much going on that
this is the perfect time to launch the web site," commented Stanton.
"This site is a way for me to communicate with the motorsports industry
and with fans, friends and family. We'll be constantly updating it with
the latest news so it should be exciting and always changing. We already
have several ideas that we will be adding to the site soon. Launching
CraigStanton.com is the next, important step I'm taking in the process
of developing my career."
The AxisStudio design echoes the fast-paced world in which Stanton
competes with up-to-date news and photographs of his latest racing
successes, a listing for Stanton's busy race schedule, a career resume
and contact information for the popular Californian driver. Additional
features are in the works to further maximize the visitor's experience
at CraigStanton.com.
Since moving from moto-cross/super-cross to automobiles in 1986, Stanton
has positioned himself as one of the premier race drivers in sports car
racing. A driver with a desire to race and win in all kinds of machines,
Stanton has competed in closed and open cockpit sports cars, sedans,
NASCAR stock cars, open wheel formula cars and midgets and in off-road
competition. He has won three championships and a Driver of the Year
award in Sports Renault. He is the 1997 Speedvision Cup Rising Star
Award winner and began competing in the top echelon of sports car racing
in 1999 with rides in both the ALMS and USRRC. Earlier this year,
Stanton co-drove the Petersen Motorsports/ White Lightning Racing
Porsche 911 GT3 RS to a second in ALMS GT-class at the prestigious 12
Hours of Sebring. Driving the Bell Motorsports BMW M3, Stanton raced to
the runner-up position in the Phoenix stop of the Rolex Series in May
and sixth at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway in February.
Outside of the car, Stanton takes his fitness training very seriously
with the goal of being the fittest race driver in the world. When time
outside racing permits he enjoys staying fit with his friends doing
mountain bike racing, triathlons, multi-sport adventure team racing,
surfing and rock climbing. Stanton acts as a test driver, facilitator
and driving instructor for many of the world's largest automobile
manufacturers and is a precision and stunt driver for car commercials.
He lives in Long Beach with his wife, Joy, a physical fitness trainer.
