Corus Group announces appointment of non-executive director

London, June 10 -- The Board of Corus Group plc has today appointed Prof. Kurt Lauk a non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect.

Prof. Lauk is the President of Globe Capital Partners and is Chairman of Charles Bernd AG and a member of the Supervisory Boards of Gehring Maschinenbau GmbH and I D Media AG. He is also a director of the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London.

Biographical note

As President of Globe Capital Partners, based in New York with offices also in Stuttgart, Professor Lauk is a strategic and business development advisor to the boards of companies in which Globe invests. Prior to this he was a visiting professor at Stanford University, and continues as a guest lecturer.

He has a wide range of experience within industry, having been a member of the corporate management of DaimlerChrysler between 1996 and 1999, the chief financial officer of Veba AG from 1992 to 1996, deputy chief executive officer/financial officer of Audi between 1989 and 1992 and chief executive officer of Zinser Textilmaschinen between 1984 and 1989. Prior to this he was with the Boston Consulting Group between 1978 and 1984.

He has degrees from the Universities of Tübingen and Munich, an MBA from Stanford University and a doctorate from the University of Kiel.

He is married with four children and is aged 57.
