Andrew Corporation Wins 2.4 Million Euros Telematics Order from MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG

    ORLAND PARK, Ill.--June 9, 2003--Andrew Corporation has received a two-year contract, valued at 2.4 million Euros, from MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG, one of Europe's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, for a range of multiband bodymount antennas to enable GSM, AM/FM, and GPS communications on their commercial vehicles. The Andrew multiband antennas will be on-line fitted to the MAN trucks during the manufacturing process. MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG has production plants in Austria, Germany, Poland, Turkey and South Africa.
    Andrew will supply MAN with a range of multiband antennas. According to the contract, the order will reach a value of over 2.4 million Euros over two years. Andrew has already delivered the first consignment of antennas to MAN.

    The factory-fitted antennas will enable telematics for small or large vehicle fleets. Services include accurate location and movement data, detailed vehicle and driver performance data, two way text messaging and voice communications, trailer tracking and asset management, direct connection to breakdown services, and tachograph analysis. In human terms, these services are used to enhance driver safety and protection by improving load security and tracking, including providing proof of a truck's arrival and departure. Other benefits are better fuel economy, reduced insurance premiums, better asset utilization, and accurate vehicle performance reports. All these benefits can improve a fleet's productivity and profitability.
