2nd Annual Big Daddy's Day Weekend Cool Car Show 2003
ADDISON, Texas, June 9 -- Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15, 11am-4pm
What better way to show dear old Dad how much he is appreciated than a road trip down memory lane into a collection of the coolest, flashiest cars in town? For those seeking just the right treat for the family patriarch, this event is the perfect solution to this traditionally daunting task, and it's the right price -- FREE.
Lined up wheel-to-wheel, and from curb-to-curb at Village on the Parkway in Addison this Father's Day, will be the most impressive collection of dazzling automobiles ever seen this side of the interstate. From vintage cruisers sporting names like Packard, Hudson and LaSalle to hybrid hot-rods and chrome-laden, muscle-cars with monikers like Mach 1, GTO, T-Bird and 442, this show will keep Dad and his clan immersed for hours and in the automotive fantasies of their youth.
The distinguished line up may also include prestigious names like Cadillac, Bentley or Benz, exotic European emblems such as Ferrari, Lambourghini or Masserati and American legends like Zephyr, Edsel or Corvair.
Adding distinction to the event and elevating its status above the average "neighborhood parking lot show" is the official competition which will award Best of Show, second and third place trophies in each of 25 classes. In honor of Addison's 50th Anniversary, there will also be a trophy for "Best 1953 Model". This, in addition to participation by the North Texas Mustang Club and the Lone Star Corvette Club is attracting entries from across Texas.
This event will also include festivities, food, fun and music from hometown favorite, Robert Lee Kobb & The Local Heroes, who are expected to burn through a few muscle-car songs like "Mustang Sally", "409", "Little Deuce Coupe", "GTO" and a trunk full of other pop tunes.
Before, during or after viewing the hot rods and cool cars, Dad can relax, "check his oil", pour a cold beverage in his radiator or put "fuel" in his tank at anyone of Village on the Parkway's restaurants: Blue Mesa Grill, Celebrity Bakery, De Tapas, Dream Cafe, Ernie's, Flying Fish, Gloria's, Mercy Wine Bar, Sherlock's Baker Street, Subway, TGI Friday's, Original Pancake House, Saffron House, Tin Star and Yoshi's. For last-minute Father's Day gifts, visitors can also cruise into any of 45 shops.
