Ansoft Translator Interface Available for Cadence Virtuoso; AnsoftLinks Software Paves Way for Accurate Characterization of on-Chip Passive Devices

PITTSBURGH--June 5, 2003--Ansoft Corporation today released the AnsoftLinks(TM) v2.5 interface for Cadence Virtuoso(R) digital and analog custom IC layout editor, significantly streamlining the design of on-chip passive devices.
The interface makes it possible to export circuit layout cells from within Cadence Virtuoso to any number of Ansoft's high-frequency and high-speed electromagnetic analysis products, including Ansoft's HFSS(TM), Spicelink(TM) and Ansoft Designer(TM).
"Our objective is to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our customers' design flows," said Brad Cole, Ansoft's SI Product Marketing Manager. "This is absolutely essential for engineers concerned with meeting demanding development cost and time-to-market goals, while simultaneously pushing technological barriers."
As a member of the Cadence Connections Program, Ansoft has access to Cadence software and application notes, enabling tool interoperability with the Cadence design flow. The Connections Program promotes open interoperability in all areas of electronic design, including digital, custom integrated circuit (IC), analog/mixed-signal and printed circuit board (PCB) design.
AnsoftLinks v2.5 also adds support for Mentor Graphics(R) Board Station(R) and builds on the existing links for Cadence Allegro(R), Cadence Advanced Package Designer (APD), Synopsys(R) Encore and Zuken CR-5000 Board Designer.
