Delphi Packard Names Burgner to Lead Mechatronic Systems Business Line

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., June 5 -- Delphi Corp. has announced the appointment of David Burgner, 53, as Business Line Executive for Delphi Mechatronic Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Delphi Packard Electric Systems division.

Burgner, previously executive director of European New Product Launches for Packard, replaces Lothar Veeser, who has elected to leave Delphi to pursue other opportunities. Burgner is responsible for the complete product strategy, product line profitability and integration of the business across functions. He continues to report to James A. Spencer, president, Delphi Packard Electric and vice president, Delphi Corp.

A native of Indiana, Burgner began his career at Delphi Packard Electric in 1972 working as an engineer. He advanced quickly through the organization and has held numerous engineering and managerial positions within Delphi Packard and other Delphi divisions. Prior to his most recent assignment, Burgner was Delphi Packard's Managing Director - Europe, Middle East & Africa for more than six years.

Burgner holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rose- Hulman Institute and a master's degree in business from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
