First Tennessee Renews Partnership as the Official Financial Services Provider of Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway
TRI-CITIES, Tenn.--June 4, 2003--The checkered flag will not wave for First Tennessee when a three-year relationship as the Official Financial Provider of Bristol Motor Speedway and Bristol Dragway comes to a close at the end of 2003. Instead, First Tennessee announced today that it is proudly extending the partnership for the next five years."The partnership between First Tennessee and BMS is a natural fit," said Newt Raff, president of First Tennessee for Northeast Tennessee. "When you create a partnership between the speedway dubbed as 'fans' favorite track' and the most successful financial services institution across the state of Tennessee, you develop a win-win situation for everyone, including the NASCAR fans."
In 2000, First Tennessee signed on with the Speedway and Dragway to become the Official Financial Services Provider for the venues. "The last three years have witnessed the building of a truly solid business relationship between First Tennessee and Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway," said Jeff Byrd, BMS president and general manager. "We are tremendously excited in knowing that we will be working together for the future of both companies, the sport of racing, and for the fans and people of the communities across the state."
First Tennessee also will partner with Jasper Engines and Transmissions to sponsor the #77 Jasper Engines Ford Taurus to be driven by Dave Blaney at the sold-out Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 23, 2003. To celebrate these partnerships, First Tennessee will offer fans the chance to win the "Ultimate Bristol Experience" via a special sweepstakes in July. A full-size replica of the #77 First Tennessee Ford Taurus will make appearances this summer at more than 200 First Tennessee financial centers across the state.
