Embarcadero Systems Corp. Deploys Vehicle Terminal Management System - VinTelligent

    ALAMEDA, Calif.--June 4, 2003--Embarcadero Systems Corporation (ESC) announced today the successful installation of its VinTelligent(TM) system, a state-of-the-art, web-based vehicle terminal management system for Auto Resources Group (ARG) at the Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) Auto Ramp in Miami, Florida. VinTelligent is a web-based application designed to manage and track the movement of vehicles through the entire supply chain. The system installed at the FECR Auto Ramp provides: real-time access to railcar and vehicle information, EDI communications, bar coded tags for vehicles in the yard, extensive wireless network coverage, and easy-to-use handheld communications devices.
    "Since VinTelligent was replacing the current terminal system in operation in Miami, a smooth data conversion was paramount to our project success. We were quite impressed with the smooth transition and quick start-up," said Steve Renne, President, ARG. Renne continues, "In Miami, ARG will process over 16,000 rail cars carrying in excess of 190,000 vehicles per year. That's a significant percentage -- on the order of 40% of all autos shipped to and from South Florida."
