Mitsubishi's ProRally Lancer Evolution Heavy Favorite

Team Mitsubishi Motor Sports America Brings Winning Streak To Susquehannock Trail ProRally in Wellsboro

CYPRESS, Calif., June 3 -- Competition in the Open Class of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) ProRally Series will be fast and furious when Team Mitsubishi Motor Sports America, lead by Championship Series points leader David Higgins, rolls into Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, June 6 for the 310-mile-long Susquehannock Trail ProRally (STPR). STPR is the third in a round of nine national championship ProRally events held around the country.

Higgins, along with co-driver Daniel Barritt, has demonstrated world-class driving abilities and the outstanding reliability and performance of the new all-wheel-drive, 400-plus-horsepower race-prepared Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution at the two previous SCCA ProRally events.

Higgins won both the Sno*Drift ProRally in Michigan in January and the Rim of the World ProRally in California in May while holding off a strong contingency of Subarus. With those two consecutive victories, Mitsubishi holds a dominating 41 point lead for the SCCA ProRally manufacturers championship title.

Teammate Lauchlin O'Sullivan, driving an identically prepared Lancer Evolution, captured a fourth overall at the season opener and a third at Rim of the World, further demonstrating that Mitsubishi is a force to be reckoned with in ProRally.

The two formidable red-and-silver rally cars that Higgins and O'Sullivan pilot are race-tuned versions of the all-wheel-drive, 271-horsepower Lancer Evolutions that have garnered wide acclaim among high-performance sports car enthusiasts and automotive magazines since they went on sale in February.
