Tinnerman Palnut Engineered Products, LLC Announces an Expansion for its Canada Plant

    BRUNSWICK, Ohio--June 3, 2003--Tinnerman Palnut Engineered Products, LLC announces plans to expand its Hamilton Ontario plant and create a Center of Excellence to coordinate engineering and research for the entire company. The expansion will add 48,000 square feet. This expansion is the second expansion the Hamilton facility has experienced within the last five years. In 1999 the plant added 50,000 square feet. With this new addition the plant will be over 175,000 square feet.
    The expansion has been underway since January 1st with an expected completion date of October 1, 2003. Jim Finley, CEO stated, "The Center of Excellence will be a full Engineering and Research Center for all metal products and services provided by all Tinnerman Palnut plants. We plan to leverage the COE to enhance customer satisfaction and grow our business. Hamilton Engineering has several advantages, a strong infrastructure, staff with significant experience and expertise in metal products and a long history of exceeding customer expectations. We are proud that the Board of Directors had the confidence in the Hamilton facility to support this growth initiative."
    The Center of Excellence will provide prototype services, estimating, design and costing functions for all new metal products. The factory will be adding 15 Four Slide Machines, 15 Presses, an additional heat treat furnace, and an additional paint line. The expansion also includes 3 additional shipping docks, which will aid material flow and overall logistics and customer service. The expansion will also create new jobs for designers, engineering coordinators, prototype technicians, tool and die makers, machinists and production workers.
