WHY: A swift post-Asia crisis recovery has impressed and attracted many
foreign investors to the Korea market, given the market's
resilient domestic consumption coupled by the increasing global
competitiveness of Korea's main industries. On the contrary to
what is happening globally, year to date there have been signs of
slowing domestic consumption, as well as uncertain external
factors such as SARS and the instability in North Korea.
Recently, investors seem to be caught at a crossroads on the
Korean stock market and economy.
During the Korea Senior Management Conference, participating
companies and government representatives will explain the further
economic growth prospects of Korea, corporate strategies, and
policy direction of the new administration. The Federation of
Korean Industries aims to boost Korea's credibility to the foreign
investor community.
