Timken-Sponsored Team Rahal Wins at Milwaukee
Jourdain leads CART Series
CANTON, Ohio, June 2 -- Michel Jourdain, Jr. dominated the Milwaukee Mile Centennial 250 Saturday night, setting a Champ Car World Series record of 234 laps led, and posting his first career win. The victory vaulted the Team Rahal Gigante driver into the Champ Car championship lead by ten points over Paul Tracy (77-67).
The win is the 15th in Timken-sponsored Team Rahal's history. This marks the sixth consecutive season that Team Rahal has won a race. Jourdain's win also marks the third straight season that a Team Rahal driver has left Milwaukee as the Champ Car points leader.
"This is so sweet," said Jourdain. "The car was so good, and we were able to pull out a big lead on everybody. I knew we had the fastest car, and if I didn't make a mistake, no one would get past me."
