Sunoco's Team Ultra 94 makes debut!
Matt Champagne, Aaron de Heus and Jordy Vorrath have successful test at
Mosport under the watchful eye of Ron Fellows

MOSPORT, ONTARIO - The three Sunoco Team Ultra 94 members got their first
taste of wheel-to-wheel action in 2003 at the Driver Development Track at
Mosport International Raceway on May 29. The three drivers, Fonthill's Matt
Champagne, Goodwood's Aaron de Heus and Vancouver's Jordy Vorrath all took
part in a one day, one-on-one test session with the instructors of the
Bridgestone/Firestone Racing Academy.

They also were under the watchful eye of Ron Fellows, who had hand picked
the three drivers from the 2002 Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship
presented by Toronto Star Wheels to compete in the 2003
Bridgestone/FormulaCar Magazine F2000 Racing Series. "It was a lot of fun
to watch the progression from start to finish - the guys did a real good
job. Ugo, Mike and Scott did a great job one-on-one with our guys," Fellows
said. "It provides these guys with a much steeper learning curve than they
would normally get. We made good progress today, and that is all we could
have hoped for. It is going to be fun to come back here and watch them race."

The drivers took part in six on track sessions with the Bridgestone
instructors trailing them, and then leading them around the track.. "It was
fun with the instructors," Champagne said. "They were pressuring us, and it
was good to have someone in your mirrors that was quicker than us."

All three drivers came away with good speed, but they all realized this was
just the first step. "So far I think it is clear I have a lot to learn," de
Heus said. "I'm struggling to get this car thing sorted out, Jordy and Matt
seem to be putting on a good show, so hopefully I will be able to learn
from them also. The one-on-one training has been a huge help to learn
braking, turning and learning the line - things I don't have to think about
in a go kart."

Vorrath, who made the trip here from Vancouver to compete, was happy with
his progress. "I got better as the sessions went on," Vorrath said. "I have
a lot to learn, it's a lot different in cars than karts. Ron is very
experienced and you always take in what he has to say, it is great to have
him around."

Champagne echoed Vorrath's comments about Fellows, "It's great to have Ron
here," Champagne said. "He was a big help with feedback - he kind of knows
what he is doing - and I am glad he was here getting involved with us. I
think we all learned a lot during the day. All in all, a fun day and Sunoco
- I can't thank them enough for letting us do this. It's a thrill."

Next up for Sunoco's Team Ultra 94 members will be the first race of the
2003 Bridgestone/FormulaCar Magazine F2000 series will be June 20-22 at
Mosport.
