Grimm to Lead Metaldyne's Precision Forming Division

PLYMOUTH, Mich., May 29, 2003 -- Metaldyne today announced that Doug Grimm has been appointed vice president and general manager of the company's Precision Forming division. In this new role, Grimm is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Driveline and Transmission Group's Precision Forming operations.

"I am pleased to announce Doug's new assignment within Metaldyne's Driveline and Transmission Group," said Tim Leuliette, Metaldyne chairman, president and CEO. "With his background in purchasing and manufacturing, he will make an exceptional leader for the Precision Forming division."

Previously, Grimm served as vice president of Quality and Supply Chain Management, where he was responsible for the procurement operation and materials management system throughout Metaldyne, as well as the overall corporate quality function including metallurgy services, corporate quality systems, Six Sigma, VE/VA initiatives and warranty policy and administration. A replacement for Grimm has not yet been named.

Prior to joining Metaldyne, Grimm served as vice president of global strategic sourcing at Dana Corporation, where he oversaw the company's global purchasing operations. Prior to his work at Dana, he spent ten years at DaimlerChrysler in a variety of management positions with the Procurement and Supply Office.

Metaldyne Precision Forming is a leading supplier of net-formed gears, shafts, constant velocity joints, air bag related and other components for automotive applications, using warm and cold forging, and finished machining manufacturing processes. The division has six operations throughout Michigan, Ohio and Indiana including: Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Minerva, Ohio; Fraser, Mich.; Troy, Mich.; and two locations in Detroit.
