TriMas Corporation to Open Shanghai Office, Appoints Managing Director of China Operations

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., May 29, 2003 -- TriMas Corporation announced today that it will open a new office in Shanghai, China, and has appointed Zetong "Sunny" Guan as managing director of China operations. The announcements were made by Grant Beard, president and chief executive officer.

Guan -- who will run the Shanghai office, which is expected to open in July 2003 -- will be responsible for managing the expansion of TriMas business units into the Asian marketplace as the company continues to build for future growth. She will be the key interface for customer relationship management and supplier development efforts in Asia Pacific.

"Sunny's experience with international sourcing and supply-chain management provides TriMas with the leadership required to grow into new regions of the world," Beard said. "She has excellent management skills for this critical role."

Most recently, Guan served for the past year as director of international sourcing for TriMas' Lake Erie Products business in Cleveland.

She has 10 years of solid experience, having worked in various management positions in business development and product management for Dana Corporation in Beijing from 1995 to 1999 and the China National Automotive Industry Sichuan Co. located in Chengdu from 1990 to 1995.

Guan earned a master's degree in business administration from The University of Western Ontario and a master of science degree from the Institute of Physics in Beijing. She also earned a bachelor's degree from Fudan University in Shanghai.
