Liberty Productions, Inc. Changes Name to Motor Trend Auto Shows, Inc.
Company to Produce 17 International Auto Shows in 2003 As Part of the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group
NEW YORK, May 28 -- The nation's largest auto show producer, formerly known as Liberty Productions, Inc., announced today that the company is formally changing its name to "Motor Trend Auto Shows, Inc." The company will function as a division of the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group.
Founded in 1984 as Liberty Productions, the company has grown to produce 17 international auto shows across the country. In 1999, the company became the automotive event division for MOTOR TREND, the world's #1 automotive authority. In 2001, Liberty Productions and MOTOR TREND were joined under the umbrella of their new parent company, Primedia Inc.
"The name change to Motor Trend Auto Shows, Inc. was a natural fit, and better describes the company's unique position in the automotive industry," said Lou Mohn, president of the Primedia Consumer Automotive Group. In the last year, attendance at shows produced by Motor Trend Auto Shows, Inc. has grown significantly. In 2002, attendance figures rose by 13% over the previous year.
