Manufacturers Equipment & Supply Company to Implement Industrial Distribution Solution from Microsoft Business Solutions and MaxQ Technologies

    FINDLAY, Ohio--May 27, 2003--MaxQ Technologies' (MaxQ) CEO, Michael Linn today announced that Manufacturers Equipment and Supply Company (MESCO), a leading industrial distributor specializing in tool products for the tool manufacturing and integration industries, will implement a combined Microsoft Business Solutions and MaxQ Solutions for Distribution. To replace its 27-year-old legacy system, MESCO has selected Microsoft's Solomon and CRM product lines, as well as MaxQ's Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Vendor Managed Inventory, and eProphet Business Intelligence series.

    After determining that a tier one ERP platform would be too costly, MESCO utilized a scorecard matrix approach to review a number of more suitable options.
    According to Chris Long, Director of Business Development and Information Technology, MESCO, purchasing an integrated best of breed solution that would solidly link to existing office applications was key. "After narrowing our search and applying our scorecard approach, the Microsoft/MaxQ solution scored 50% higher than any of the other ERP packages we considered," said Long.
    Long added that the strong suit of the Microsoft/MaxQ solution is its targeted focus on the Industrial Distribution market. "In our industry and in our target market, the mid-size industrial distribution category, businesses would be foolish not to look at the Microsoft/MaxQ business platform," said Long.
    MESCO has started its implementation of the new solution and Long and his staff have been pleased with the professional approach of the MaxQ team.
