Stu Hayner Qualifies to Start Third for the Lime Rock Grand Prix
Bobby Sak to start sixth

Lime Rock Park, Conn. – May 23, 2003 – Stu Hayner will start the #2 
Trenton Forging/GMAC Commercial Finance Corvette from the second row 
after qualifying third for Monday’s Mohegan Sun Presents the Lime Rock 
Grand Prix. The race is round four in the Trans-Am Series for the 
BFGoodrich Tires Cup. Hayner bettered is 2002 pole time by 4 tenths of 
a second but was delegated to the third spot by quicker times from the 
Jaguars of Johnny Miller and Scott Pruett. Miller’s pole time was one 
full second faster than Hayner’s 2002 pole time.

Teams have been thrown every kind of weather conditions throughout the 
weekend. Practice sessions ran fully wet to almost dry and cold. Series 
officials reversed Saturday’s schedule in an attempt to run qualifying 
with the best conditions. With forecasters predicting inclement weather 
for Monday’s race, set-ups will not be determined until race time.

“We’ve worked out all the variables, that’s for sure,” said Hayner. 
“Basically, we can put a competitive set-up on the track regardless of 
what the weather throws at us. I would prefer to see similar conditions 
to qualifying since that’s going to provide the best show for Trans-Am 
fans.”

When asked about his times this year, Hayner remarked; “The crew gave 
me a great car…. just like they always do. But, I have to tell you, and 
I wouldn’t say this if it weren’t true…. I put together two or three 
laps that if I’ve ever driven a perfect lap, this was it. They were 
perfect… and I can state without a doubt… that’s all there is. I left 
nothing on the track.”

Bobby Sak will start the #10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette in sixth 
position right behind his Rookie championship nemesis, Jorge Diaz.

“I think I’ve got a good car,” said Sak. “I’m comfortable with the 
set-up regardless of the weather, and I think I can run fast for the 
full 100 miles. We really need to focus on keeping the leaders in sight 
and keeping the car in one piece. My first focus is doing well in the 
race, but it’s hard not to look at the big picture and the year-long 
race for the rookie title. Jorge has put together a good string for the 
first three races… I need to keep him in sight.”

Sak is currently second in the Rookie Championship just 13 points back 
from Diaz. Meanwhile Stu Hayner is locked in a 5-way battle for third. 
He only needs five points over Mike Lewis to secure the spot 
exclusively. Hayner picked up one bonus point Saturday for qualifying 
in the top three for Monday’s race.

Revolution Motorsports in association with Trenton Forging competes as 
part of the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup. All events 
are nationally televised on SPEED. The Lime Rock event will be 
broadcast LIVE at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 26. The Trans-Am Series is the 
oldest form of American sports car racing.
