Sika Promotes Business Unit Vice President and Director of Engineering

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., May 23, 2003 -- Sika Corporation Industry Products Division announced two promotions within its business team effective June 1:

Scott Henry becomes Vice President Transportation OEM and Marine. Scott has 12 years of experience in the adhesives and sealants industry. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Scott holds a B.S. in Polymer Science and Engineering. He has held a range of technical positions including 6 years in research and development of polyurethane adhesives. Prior to his promotion Scott was Sika's Director of Product Engineering with responsibility for developing applications in markets such as transportation OEM and marine, auto glass replacement, building components, and appliances and equipment. "Since joining Sika, Scott has demonstrated excellent capabilities both technically and managerially. Under his guidance, the Product Engineering group has grown to become a critical resource within Sika," said Bill Loven, Senior Vice President for the division. In his new role Scott will be tasked with leading the Transportation OEM and Marine business unit and sales group, increasing revenues and the customer base, while developing the sales personnel in the field.

Dr. George Sivy becomes Director of Product Engineering. He had been the division's Technical Service Manager. In his new position Dr. Sivy will also report directly to Bill Loven. Prior to Sika, Dr. Sivy practiced his polymer & adhesives chemistry specialty as an industry consultant and in positions with ITW and the Naval Surface Weapons Center. "Dr. Sivy has excelled at matching our technologies to customer unique applications and his guidance on recent new product introductions was critical to their success. He has also served as an excellent mentor to our Product Engineering staff," said Loven. In his new role, Dr. Sivy will be tasked with leading both the Product Engineering and Technical Services groups for the division.
