Johnson Controls Declares Cash Dividend

MILWAUKEE, May 21, 2003 -- The Directors of Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) today authorized a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.36 per common share. The dividend is payable June 30, 2003 to shareholders of record June 13, 2003.

  Johnson Controls has paid consecutive dividends since 1887.
