Coors Light Silver Bullet will sport Brooks & Dunn paint scheme
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 19, 2003) --- Country duo, Brooks & Dunn are once again bringing some country charm to the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. Sterling Marlin's No. 40 Coors Light Dodge will feature a Brooks & Dunn paint scheme for the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
"Chip Ganassi racing and Brooks & Dunn are two of our longest running sponsorships and are our two most valued partners," said Pat Ramirez, Director of Sales Services for Coors Brewing Company. "Kix and Ronnie will be performing in Charlotte on June 13, and their new album, Red Dirt Road, will be in stores in mid July, so it made sense to put their logos on the car for this race. We know the fans and the race team will enjoy this special paint scheme."
The special paint scheme will feature logos of the Neon Circus tour as well as the Red Dirt Road logos to help promote the tour and the new release.
"I'm glad to have Brooks and Dunn on the car again," Marlin said. "I know those guys pretty well through all of the Coors appearances we do together. They're fun guys and I'm glad to be able to promote them on the car."
Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have sold 22 million albums, scored 18 No. 1 hits, and have been named Entertainer of the Year three times. Pairing this country duo with Sterling Marlin could easily turn into a night to remember.
Marlin, who currently sits 10th in NASCAR Winston Cup championship points, won the fall race at Lowe's Motor Speedway in 2001. The Coors Light Dodge continued its streak there in 2002 when replacement driver Jamie McMurray scored his first career win in the same race one year later.
Sterling Marlin will race his Brooks & Dunn Coors Light Dodge in the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 25. The race will be broadcast live on FOX television and PRN radio.
