Intuicom Selects Thales Navigation A12 GPS Board for Its New Navigator II Wireless Data Transceiver

    SANTA CLARA, Calif.--May 19, 2003--

Company Cites WAAS-enabled Accuracy, Low Power Consumption in Making Choice

Thales Navigation, a leading provider of GPS solutions for positioning, navigation and communications applications, today said its A12(TM) GPS receiver has been chosen by Intuicom, Inc., to provide GPS capabilities as an option with its new Navigator II wireless data transceiver.
Navigator II is a multifunctional wireless data transceiver designed for industrial wireless networking applications. It enables simultaneous wireless connectivity for up to three serial devices, discrete inputs/outputs and GPS at each remote location in the network. Its long-range secure wireless capabilities provide connectivity for a broad set of fixed and mobile data applications.
Intuicom specializes in creating wireless communications networks for a wide range of customers, including public agencies and companies that need such networks for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), vehicle fleet asset management and automatic vehicle location (AVL) systems. Intuicom networks designed for those applications typically include Intuicom's SmartGPS(TM) technology, which uses the Thales Navigation receiver.

A12 offers high accuracy, low power consumption
"The A12 board gives us a combination of low power consumption and WAAS-enabled accuracy," said Tom Foley, Intuicom's director of sales and marketing. "Those two factors are important advantages in this very competitive market. Of course, we've had good experiences with Thales Navigation products in the past, so we know we have a solid, reliable product."
Intuicom's wireless data networks comprise private wireless infrastructures and in-vehicle units for data communications and, for those networks using GPS, AVL capabilities. In municipal bus fleets, for example, GPS lets managers close gaps between buses and avoid 'bunching' and other traffic control problems.

    About Intuicom
Intuicom, Inc., is a leader in providing wireless data communications networks for a broad set of applications, including intelligent transportation and AVL; survey, mapping and geographic information systems (GIS); utilities and public infrastructure; defense and security; and marine communications and positioning. Headquarter in Boulder, Colo., Intuicom was originally founded to provide integrated GPS/wireless data communications solutions to the earth science research community.
