Delphi Names New Purchasing Director for Safety & Interior Systems Division

TROY, Mich., May 15, 2003 -- Delphi Corp. has announced the appointment of Patrick C. Murtagh as director of global purchasing in its Safety & Interior Systems division.

Murtagh, 49, replaces Karen A. McClain, who has been appointed director of global purchasing for Delphi Product & Service Solutions.

In his new assignment, Murtagh reports to James A. Bertrand, president of Delphi Safety & Interior Systems.

Prior to this assignment, Murtagh was commodity director for metallic at Delphi Global Purchasing. He began his career in 1978 at General Motors in production control and logistics for the Cadillac Division operations in Detroit. Over the next 10 years, Murtagh held various positions in purchasing for the Cadillac and Chevrolet divisions in Detroit and Warren, Mich., before being named an advisor for Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM of Canada production systems for the GM North American Car Group in Warren in 1989. Murtagh continued as the director of purchasing for various functions within GM, including the electric commodity for car platforms in North America from 1992-1996. He came to Delphi in 1999 and was named director of purchasing for electrical systems. Murtagh holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mercy College in Detroit.
