Motor Trend and Automobile Magazine Team Up for First of Quarterly Supplements

Advertisers in Wheel & Tire Guide Include

Pirelli, Tires.com, Tire Rack, Center Line

NEW YORK, May 15 -- MOTOR TREND, the world's #1 automotive authority, and AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE, America's leading automotive lifestyle magazine, today announced a new series of quarterly single-topic automotive supplements -- the first content jointly produced between the two titles of the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group.

The first supplement in this series, Wheel & Tire Guide, is distributed in polybags with newsstand copies of both magazines' June 2003 issues. The guide blends the strengths of each publication, combining the product expertise of MOTOR TREND with the lifestyle content of AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE.

"This is the first time both magazines have teamed up in print content," said David Forgione, group publisher of the PRIMEDIA Consumer Automotive Group. "We are excited about the prospects for future joint ventures as we look to grow our readership and strengthen our leadership position in the automotive category."

Wheel & Tire Guide was created using input from both magazines and features a lead essay by legendary automotive journalist David E. Davis, Jr., editorial advisor to MOTOR TREND and founder/editor emeritus of AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE. The guide includes information ranging from the latest in wheels, tires and related products, to tire terminology and how celebrities are customizing their wheels.

Advertisers benefiting from the first quarterly supplement include Pirelli, Tires.com, Tire Rack and Center Line. "With this joint effort we've seen advertisers cross over to benefit from the audiences of both publications," said Forgione.

More single-topic outserts are in development, with the next supplement tentatively scheduled for September, covering vehicle care. The Wheel & Tire Guide is available on newsstands now with the purchase of either AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE or MOTOR TREND.
