NOTES OF INTEREST: The ADG 100 presented by EasyCare, the 18th appearance of the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Lowe's Motor Speedway since Curtis Turner won the inaugural race in 1964, is scheduled to roll off under the lights following Bud Pole Qualifying for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. Typical of most RE/MAX Series entry lists at Lowe's, this year's will be as diverse as the series itself. ARCA veterans/regulars Frank Kimmel, Jason Jarrett, Mark Gibson, Ron Cox, Brent Sherman, Andy Belmont, Billy Venturini, Todd Bowsher, Norm Benning, Darrell Basham, Chuck Weber, Bill Eversole and Mike Buckley will go head to head with a wide mix of rookies and new-comers including Mooresville NC driver Clayton Rogers, Japan's Hideo Fukuyama, Woodhaven MI rookie Jimmy Thiel and 18-year-old rookies Jeremy Clements and Kyle Busch. Busch, in only 3 previous RE/MAX Series starts, is already a 2-time winner (Nashville Superspeedway in April '03 & Kentucky Speedway in May '03). Of the drivers entered, only Kimmel, Jeff Fultz and Mario Gosselin are former ARCA RE/MAX-LMS winners although Kimmel is the only former ARCA RE/MAX Series champion entered. Other notable entrants include fulltime Winston Cup driver Casey Mears who is entered in a Chip Ganassi Racing Dodge and 17-year-old Shelby Howard who became the youngest winner in ARCA RE/MAX Series history with his recent April 27th victory at Salem Speedway. Former sprint car driver Christi Passmore currently leads the way in the ARCA Rookie of the Year honors. In addition, the Pryor OK native is currently 7th in overall points. Tim Steele is the all-time ARCA RE/MAX-LMS winner with 4 wins over Kimmel with 2. No driver has repeat wins at LMS other than Steele who won 3 consecutive in 1996.
