TDS Selected by BMW Group as Partner for New China CKD Program
LONDON, Ontario, May 15, 2003 -- Following a comprehensive four month selection process, TDS automotive has been chosen by BMW to provide outbound logistics services for their new China project.
Under the terms of this 5 year contract TDS will perform CKD (complete knock-down) export packing services to support BMW Group, and joint venture partner Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd., production of BMW '3 series' vehicles in Shenyang, China. Production of a new BMW '5 series' model is expected to follow.
The scope of work for which TDS automotive assumes responsibility includes receiving, inspection, warehousing and consolidation, oil conservation of body metal parts, building of special overseas packaging, packing of vehicle components and stuffing of sea containers.
TDS will provide these services from a brand new 40,000 square meter building in Regensburg, Bavaria GY, located next to the BMW '3 series' production plant. This new TDS export program scheduled to launch June 2003 will employ approximately 300 people.

TDS Recognized for Excellence by DaimlerChrysler
WINDSOR, Ontario: TDS automotive was proud to be honored recently by DaimlerChrysler Corporation with an award for service excellence.
In a ceremony May 5th at its Windsor facility, TDS automotive was presented a plaque by DCX Director, Steven Brostek, acknowledging the Chrysler Group Supply Organization's appreciation for "outstanding performance and total commitment in support of the Windsor Assembly Complex."
In addition to this Integrated Logistics Centre, launched in July 2002, TDS automotive recently assumed responsibility for a 50,000 sq. ft. temporary satellite operation in Windsor, handling material in support of DCX launching the new Pacifica.
TDS automotive to acquire 100% Ownership of JIT
LONDON, Ontario: TDS automotive has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% ownership of JIT, its partially-owned Brazilian affiliate.
Created in 1993 as a joint venture between TDS and Brazilian transportation company Translor, JIT had been managed by its major Brazilian shareholder and Chairman, Sergio Bio, and by its President, Jose Azank. Both Sergio and Jose will be retiring from active management of the company. An entirely new senior management team has been hired, and Sergio and Jose will be assisting to effect a smooth transition.
Consequent to the change of ownership, TDS automotive has started to assume full operational control of the company; which will, in the future, be known as "TDS logistica LTA."
