Society of Automotive Analysts Elects Andrea, Herschman and Stephens To Board of Directors

DETROIT, May 15, 2003 -- The Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA) announces that its members recently elected three new Directors to the organization's Board.

Joining the Board as North American Directors are:

* David Andrea, Director / Forecasting Group, Center for Automotive Research (CAR), Ann Arbor, Michigan.

* Mel Stephens, Vice-President / Investor Relations & Corporate Communications, Lear Corporation, Southfield, Michigan.

Joining the board as an International Director is:

* Caryl Herschman, Assistant Manager, U.S. Automotive Analyst, Toyota Motor North America, New York, New York.

Mr. Andrea graduated with an MBA from the University of Michigan, then worked in the UM Office for the Study of Automotive Transportation for eight years. Later, he became Director of Forecasting for AutoPacific, Inc., then served as an equity investment analyst with Roney & Co. (now Raymond James). Previous to his current position at CAR, Mr. Andrea was chief economist at CSM Worldwide, a Michigan-based automotive forecasting and consulting firm.

Mr. Stephens is currently responsible for all aspects of Lear's corporate relations, including investor relations, corporate communications and governmental affairs. He joined Lear in January 2002, following a 23-year career with Ford Motor Company, where he held leadership positions in Finance, Business Planning, Corporate Strategy, Communications and Investor Relations.

Ms. Herschman joined Toyota's office in New York in 1986 as its first American employee. In 1991, she authored "Working with Japanese," published by Sanshusha Publishing in Tokyo, Japan. Recognizing the need for greater female leadership within the retail automotive industry, Ms. Herschman spearheaded the formation of and was then elected President of AWARE - Advancing Women in Automotive Retail Enterprises, formally established in January 2003. She has also served in numerous leadership positions with the Women's Automotive Association International.
