    MENLO PARK, Calif. & BERLIN--May 14, 2003--gate5, a leading software technology provider for dynamic mobile guides on intelligent clients and intelligent messaging solutions, and Tele Atlas, a worldwide leading provider of digital map databases and provider of real-time traffic information in the United States, today announced that the two companies have extended their relationship worldwide to include content and solutions for North America. Through this global alliance, Tele Atlas is the exclusive map data vendor for gate5's mobile technology solutions.

    Consumer products and applications that deploy gate5 solutions include manufacturers such as Siemens, Sony and DaimlerChrysler.
    The coordinated efforts of gate5 and Tele Atlas, combined with gate5's familiarity with Tele Atlas data, allow gate5 to effectively compress geographic content and effectively manage the content locally on mobile devices. This enables licensees to expand the reach of gate5 solutions and makes it possible for application developers and service providers to deploy solutions that can be easily downloaded to client devices via a CD-ROM, cradle synchronization, infer red (IR), or over the air (OTA).
