Casey Mears to run four ARCA races

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 30, 2003) --- Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates announced today that driver Casey Mears will compete in four ARCA races starting at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 21, 2003.

"Casey's a talented young driver and the more seat time we can give him the faster he can increase his learning curve," owner Chip Ganassi said. "Running him in these four ARCA races will allow him to gain valuable time on these particular tracks."

The remaining three races will include Pocono (June 7), Michigan (June 14), and Pocono (July 26). Mears will drive a Target Dodge in all four races.

"I haven't run many laps on some of these tracks so the more experience I can get, the more it will help on Sundays," Mears said. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to learn and get better, and have some fun trying to win some races in the process."

In order to obtain existing owner's points, Braun Racing will enter Mears' #77 Target Dodge for the ARCA races. Matt Chambers, CGR test team manager, will serve as crew chief and the crew will be compiled of the CGR test team.
