Oregon Customers Eligible to Win $10,000 in Free Gas

HOUSTON, May 13 -- Shell Oil Products US, the No. 1 gasoline seller in the United States, is celebrating the conversion and grand opening of several Shell stations throughout Oregon by giving customers the opportunity to win $10,000 in free gas. The conversion of these new Shell stations is part of the company's plan to rebrand thousands of Texaco stations nationwide. Statewide, the conversion of more than 200 Texaco-branded stations began in July 2002 -- the "$10,000 Shell Gasoline Giveaway," celebrates the completed conversion of the majority of those sites.

"Motorists have many gasoline suppliers to choose from, and we plan to make Shell their brand of choice by providing customers with convenient locations, quality products, exceptional service and competitive prices," said Russell Caplan, vice president of retail for Shell Oil Products US. "The '$10,000 Shell Gasoline Giveaway' is an engaging way to introduce local residents to a new, revitalized Shell brand and to show our appreciation to the loyal customers who patronize the statewide Shell stations."

To enter the "$10,000 Shell Gasoline Giveaway," pick up an official entry form at any participating Shell station through May 15th. Mail the completed entry form to "Shell $10,000 Gas Giveaway," P.O. Box 2437, Naperville, IL 60567-2437. Or print your name, address, date of birth and phone number on a 3x5 card and mail it to the same address. All entries must be received by 12:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on Wed., May 21, 2003. The sweepstakes is open to licensed drivers, 18-years of age or older. No purchase is necessary to win.

Finalist/Winner Selection:

Ten finalists will be selected through a random drawing in late May and will be notified via mail. The winner will be selected on or around June 14, 2003 during the "$10,000 Shell Gasoline Giveaway" grand-prize ceremony. The ceremony will be held locally, and finalists must be present to win. One winner will receive $10,000 in Shell Gasoline and the nine finalists will each receive a Shell-brand gift card worth $500.
