General Motors Vice Chairman to Host Music Hall's Second Annual Cars and Stars on June 6

DETROIT, May 13, 2003 -- General Motors Vice Chairman Robert Lutz and his wife, Denise, will co-chair Music Hall's Second Annual Cars and Stars gala on Friday, June 6. The black tie event will benefit Music Hall's programming and educational initiatives, which serve up to one million people each year.

Music Hall's Cars and Stars will feature the legendary Johnny Mathis in concert with a full orchestra. For 47 years Johnny Mathis has been one of the world's premier recording artists and is a member of the Grammy Hall of Fame. His timeless hits include Wonderful, Wonderful, It's Not For Me To Say, Misty, Chances Are, The Twelfth of Never and Too Much, Too Little, Too Late. Johnny Mathis' most recent recording was The Christmas Album in 2002.

In addition to the concert, Music Hall's Cars and Stars will feature an auction, cocktails, dinner, dancing and an afterglow in the super party tent adjacent to Music Hall. GM vehicles will also be on display as part of the festivities.

"Both Denise and I are honored to chair this meaningful event that supports Music Hall and its cultural and educational programs, which have enriched the lives of thousands of people in Detroit for the past 75 years," expressed Robert Lutz, vice chairman of GM Product Development and chairman of GM North America.

Since 1928 Music Hall has provided southeast Michigan with diverse artistic and educational programming. In addition to presenting outstanding concerts and festivals, Music Hall also presents world-class dance and Broadway style musical theatre and plays. In 1995 Music Hall completed a $6.5 million renovation. Today it stands as Detroit's last remaining legitimate theatre and the city's Premier Variety House.
