Toyota Reports Best Ever Mexico Sales for April
MEXICO CITY, May 12, 2003 -- Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico (TMEX) reported best-ever April sales of 617 vehicles, an increase of 198 units over the same period last year. Toyota has sold a total of 5,822 via 12 dealerships across the country since its inception one year ago.
Toyota de Mexico now carries a broader range of vehicles, including the Corolla, Matrix, Camry, 4Runner and the all-new 2004 Sienna minivan.
"We are excited about our growing line-up of Toyota vehicles and how we are effectively building our customer base," said Jose Luis Sanchez Andion, general director of Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico. "In order to expand our base and better service our new customers, we have recently added seven new Toyota dealerships with another scheduled to open in mid-May."
The Corolla compact sedan was the April sales leader with 258 units sold, followed by the Camry at 125 units. Rounding out the top three was the all- new Sienna with 101 units sold.
