Pioneer Launches In-Car Multi-Media Packages Designed to Entertain Rear Passengers

LONG BEACH, Calif., May 12, 2003 -- Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., the established leader in mobile entertainment products, today launched two packaged mobile multi-media systems to entertain rear passengers by means of DVD video player and a choice of two types of 6.5-inch monitors. Pioneer's audio video packages, AV-SYS701RSE and AV-SYS700RSE, are designed for ease of use and operation with less installation time. Both packages will include the AVH-P6500DVD in-dash DVD player featuring touch panel control and dual zone capability allowing simultaneous playback of DVD movies or CDs for rear passengers and AM, FM or XM radio for the front passengers.

AV-SYS701RSE -- Best for sedans and leased vehicles, this A/V package includes Pioneer's AVH-P6500DVD in-dash DVD player and an AVD-W6200 quick release 6.5-inch LCD wide screen rear seat monitor. The AVD-W6200 is a high resolution 16:9 display with five selectable viewing modes, anti-glare coated screen, auto dimmer, built-in speaker, dual A/V inputs and a composite output. The monitor comes with a flexible quick installation bracket that fits most detachable headrests and is designed to be installed with no significant modification to the vehicle. The AVD-W6200 bracket is made to fit between the headrest and can be folded away when not in use. The bracket is fully adjustable to fit most double pole headrests, and is perfect for quick installations. The AV-SYS701RSE has a suggested retail price of $2000.

AV-SYS700RSE -- Perfect for larger automobiles such as sport utility vehicles (SUV), this package includes the AVH-P6500DVD in-dash DVD player, AVR-W6100 overhead 6.5-inch flip-down monitor and two wireless headphones. The AVR-W6100 is a high-resolution wide screen LCD display in a self-contained housing made to replace the factory dome lights. The AVR-W6100 features a high quality 16:9 flip down display, five selectable viewing modes, anti-glare coated screen, three A/V inputs, single A/V output, control buttons, IR transmitter, dual wired headphone outputs and dome lights. The AV-SYS700RSE has a suggested retail price of $2300.
