Oklahoma Twister Hits Aussie Auto Parts Plant

ADELAIDE, Australia May 11, 2003; Dow Jones reported that Australia's Futuris Corp. said Monday that the Oklahoma City manufacturing facilities of client General Motors Corp. have been damaged by a tornado, causing production to cease.

GM uses the Oklahoma City plant to produce its GMT370 model, which is a major U.S. contract for Futuris' Air International auto components unit.

"Manufacturing operations are suspended and at this stage it isn't possible to estimate the likely effect on the company," said Futuris.

However, it added that it carries insurance for "this type of risk."
