PAUL RICARD TEST 6th -- 9th May 2003
Summary
The BMW WilliamsF1 Team today completed its four-day testing programme at
the Paul
Ricard circuit, France. Marc Gene covered the first two days while Ralf
Schumacher
completed the final two days.
For the majority of the test, both drivers focused on tyre evaluation and
general set-up
work of the FW25. Additional testing was carried out on the braking system,
the
suspension and the aerodynamic package.
Having completed a combined total of 383 laps and topping the time sheets on
all four
days, the team will travel to Austria next week with a measured confidence
and hope of a
favourable result.
Sam Michael (Chief Operations Engineer, WilliamsF1):
"The team have spent this week testing in Paul Ricard with Ralf and Marc
working on
set-up, traction control and tyre testing. As a result, we believe we have
found an efficient tyre compound for the Austrian Grand Prix next weekend."
Mario Theissen (BMW Motorsport Director):
"All four test days have been focused on tyre testing and set-up work.
Nevertheless during the programme we completed extensive mileage which, of
course, provided us with
invaluable experience of our BMW P83 engine."
