Ford Celebrates a Long History in Chicago
* HENRY FORD'S FIRST CUSTOMER FROM THE CITY OF CHICAGO IN 1903
Ford President & COO, Nick Scheele, will visit Chicago this Friday to mark the company's 100th anniversary. Ford Motor Company will unveil an exhibit at the Chicago Historical Society, highlighting some of the important milestones of Ford's long history with the City of Chicago. Ford's 100th Anniversary couldn't have been achieved without the help of an important Chicagoan in 1903. Henry Ford's first customer was a dentist from Chicago. This Chicagoan's purchase helped to start the world's second largest automobile company, as well as an important relationship between Ford and the City of Chicago. A Model T-100 will be on hand for media drives. The Model T-100 is one of the "brand new" Model Ts built to celebrate Ford Motor Company's 100th anniversary.
WHAT: Media will have the opportunity to preview the exhibit at the Chicago Historical Society. The Model T-100 will be available for driving lessons and a special traveling tent exhibit will also be on display.
