Sonic Jet's Technical Solutions Group Demonstrates 'IGUANA' at Department of Defense's Fourth Force Protection Equipment Demonstration

Company Showcases Multipurpose Amphibious All-Terrain Vehicle

STANTON, Calif., May 7 -- Sonic Jet Performance, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: SJET) announced today the participation of its subsidiary, Technical Solutions Group, Inc. (TSG), in the DoD Force Protection Equipment Demonstration IV (FPED IV) on May 6-8.

FPED IV is being conducted at Quantico Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia. FPED was introduced in 1997 after the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff directed the Services to investigate commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions to force protections needs. The purpose is to coordinate and facilitate a force protection equipment demonstration that would showcase and demonstrate force protection equipment. FPED introduced 184 vendors in 1997 and is expected to attract more than 500 vendors during this year's show at Quantico.

Quantico provides a support infrastructure that makes the demonstration possible and the necessary ranges for blast, ballistics mitigation and non-lethal demonstrations. Additionally, the proximity to Washington, D.C. helps ensure the attendance of DoD and federal Department and Agency personnel. The stated objective of the FPED is to provide leaders and decision-makers from the Department of Defense (DoD), federal Departments and Agencies, and selected state and local law enforcement and corrections agencies the opportunity to observe, and become familiar with, commercial-off-the-shelf force protection equipment available for procurement and testing within 90 days of the scheduled demonstration. More information on FPED IV can be found at www.fped4.org .

TSG will be demonstrating its newly developed IGUANA vehicle. The IGUANA is an amphibious all-terrain vehicle with a top speed of 65 mph. It carries a crew of four while providing undercarriage blast and fragment protection. This unique vehicle has numerous uses, including: combat, unmanned mine detection, manned mine detection, reconnaissance, and search and rescue. TSG intends to propose the IGUANA as the vehicle of the future for the V-22 ITTV Program.

The IGUANA was designed by J.J. Van Eck and David Hansen, under the guidance of TSG President Garth Barrett, a military Staff College graduate and retired Special Air Service (SAS) colonel with extensive special warfare experience in numerous special operations. In addition to his counter-terrorism expertise, Mr. Barrett is a recognized authority worldwide in the fields of explosives, intelligence, and security. Mr. Barrett graduated from the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, England in 1965. He commanded the 1st Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) in Rhodesia until 1980, and was commander of the South African 6th Reconnaissance Commando unit. He is the inventor of the revolutionary Barrett Bomb Bag, a patented bomb suppression device. He has an established reputation as an authority in the field of mine countermeasures and has been contracted by the United Nations and several individual countries for mine detection and clearing operations.
