Drive-in Chamber for Vehicle Performance Tests

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., May 6, 2003 -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation (AMEX:ETC) continues to maintain its position as the premier supplier of environmental test equipment in China. ETC was recently awarded a contract in excess of $1 million to build a drive-in chamber for Hafei Motor Company in Haerbin, China. The new facility will be able to perform air conditioning system performance tests; high and low temperature tests as well as emissions certification tests. ETC will be working with Burke E Porter who is providing the chassis dynamometer and the robot driver and Horiba who is supplying the emissions equipment.

The new facility will be used to support Hafei's long-term research and development program. The company is a leading minivan maker and a national small motor vehicles source in China. Minicar production started in 1993 on a very small scale which has gradually increased. Their product line has been enhanced by licenses with Daewoo and Mitsubishi and the development of a Pininfarina-designed minivan.

ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers. The environmental test and simulation division builds test facilities for simulating, repeating and controlling climatic conditions for the automotive, HVAC and other industries.
