Saturday’s AMA Racing Postponed
Because of Wet Track Conditions


RACE FANS HAVE THREE WAYS TO REDEEM TICKETS


SONOMA, Calif. (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) — AMA and track officials postponed all
racing on Saturday at the AMA Supercuts Superbike Challenge because of wet
track conditions at Infineon Raceway.



The track received more than one inch of rain between Friday night and
Saturday morning, forcing both track officials and AMA officials to postpone
the day’s events. A full schedule will run on Sunday, weather permitting,
including two mains events in the U.S. Chevy Trucks Superbike division. In
all, there will be main events in six divisions.



The three trouble spots on the track were at Turns 3, 8 and 10, where water
was seeping through the surface.



“Unfortunately, a few corners weren’t ready for us to get out there,” said
Mat Mladin, Yoshimura Suzuki rider and current AMA Superbike points leader.
“If you were going out there as a single rider, it might be okay, but with a
bunch of people it would be a problem for sure.”



“As far as I’m concerned, I think the AMA handled this situation well,” said
Honda rider Miguel Duhamel. “The decision was a constructive decision
through the AMA and the track because it was a safety issue.”



If the skies remain clear, track officials are hopeful of running the full
event on Sunday. Superbike main events are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.



All fans that attended Saturday’s racing will have three ways to redeem
their tickets:

  1.. All Saturday event tickets will be honored at the gate for Sunday’s
AMA Superbike doubleheader.
  2.. All Saturday tickets purchased through Infineon Raceway may be
returned by mail for a direct refund. The address for Infineon Raceway is:

  3.. All fans that purchased Saturday tickets through Ticketmaster should
