Subaru of America, Inc. Reports April 2003 Sales Up 3 Percent
CHERRY HILL, N.J., May 1 -- Subaru of America, Inc., the only car company that offers symmetrical all-wheel drive as standard equipment on every vehicle in its product line, today announced April sales of 14,526 units. The total represents a 3 percent increase from April 2002.
"April was a solid month for Subaru, bettering our results for the same month last year," said Fred Adcock, Subaru Executive Vice President. "We launched our new ad campaign featuring Lance Armstrong on April 14th, and we have already seen the impact on sales in the latter part of the month."
The Legacy model line achieved a sales total of 6,473 units, with the Legacy Sedan up 21 percent to 1396 units. The Subaru Outback recorded sales of 4,447 units for the month, while Subaru Forester recorded 4,260 units, a 2 percent increase from April 2002. The Impreza line recorded sales of 2,828 units for April, and the Baja model posted 965 units for the month.
