Polaris Announces Sales Organization Leadership Changes
MINNEAPOLIS--May 1, 2003--Polaris Industries today announced a significant reorganization of its sales leadership team in an effort to improve the overall dealer network and support provided to both dealers and consumers. The change is the first major step towards a company initiative to develop an industry leading dealer network.Leading a new integrated Parts, Garments and Accessories (PG&A) and whole goods field sales team will be the new Director of Consumer Sales, Eric Lindquist. Lindquist served previously as the PG&A National Sales Manager for Polaris upon his joining the company in 2002, and has produced significant results during his short tenure. Prior to joining Polaris, Lindquist held a number of sales positions for both Nike and Wilson Sporting Goods.
Also part of the reorganization is the creation of a commercial sales organization by consolidating Polaris Professional Series (PPS), military sales, government services (GSA) and national accounts into one organization. Ross Carlson, who has been with Polaris since 1998 leading the whole goods sales team, will lead the military, GSA and national accounts areas of the commercial sales organization. In addition, Carlson will serve as the interim Director of Commercial Sales.
Gary Fritz will continue to manage the PPS Sales team under the Commercial Sales Organization. Fritz joined Polaris in 2000 and has played a critical role in the start up sales activities for PPS. Prior to joining Polaris, Fritz was with the Toro Company for 10 years in various product, marketing and sales positions with his last position being International Sales and Marketing Manager.
Victory Motorcycle Sales will continue to be led by Bob Durand as the Victory Sales Development Manager. Since joining Polaris in 2000, Durand has done a tremendous job of transitioning Victory dealers and bringing on a new-world-class distribution process. Durand will continue to work closely with Victory while also becoming an integral part of the overall Polaris Sales Leadership team.
Finally, new dealer and retail development activities will be consolidated under the direction of Steve Menneto as the new Director of Dealer and Retail Development. Menneto joined Polaris in 1997 as a District Sales Manager, was promoted to a Regional Sales manager in 2001 and has been leading the Dealer Development Quality initiative since last October. Menneto also gained significant hands on dealership experience during his three-year tenure managing a dealership.
"This organizational effort is just the first step towards Polaris building an industry leading dealer network," said Ken Sobaski, vice-president of sales, service and marketing. "This change will reduce the number of dealers each district sales manager calls on which in short makes it easier for us to communicate and do business with our dealers."
The leaders from each of the newly formed sales divisions will report directly to Sobaski.
