NOTES OF INTEREST: This year's GFS Marketplace 200 presented by Federated Car Care will mark the 54th appearance of the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Toledo Speedway. NASCAR Winston Cup Series veteran Ken Schrader has filed an entry for this year's ARCA/Toledo classic. Schrader, who will be racing the night before in the Winston Cup race at Richmond, has 9 career ARCA RE/MAX Series victories including Toledo Speedway in 1997. In the event Schrader is unable to make the Toledo race due to Winston Cup commitments, there are plans to have Mike Wallace step-in for Schrader. In 2 previous Toledo starts, third-generation driver Jason Jarrett has finished 2nd and 3rd while 4-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Frank Kimmel has won 4 of the last 5 events there including the last 3 consecutive. Kimmel is also the all-time RE/MAX Series winner at Toledo with 6 wins overall. Other winners at Toledo through the years include Bobby Bowsher, Benny Parsons, Blaise Alexander, Iggy Katona, Bill Venturini, Ramo Stott, Andy Hampton and Bob Strait to name a few. Like the series itself, the entry list for this year's GFS Marketplace 200 is extremely diverse. The age bracket ranges from 16-year-old Justin Allgaier to 63-year-old Vern Slagh, and nearly everywhere in between including 17-year-old Shelby Howard who became the youngest winner in ARCA RE/MAX Series history last Sunday at Salem Speedway. Slagh is coming with 2 entries including one for himself, and the other for renowned late model veteran Fred Campbell who turned 50 in October. Campbell has just 2 previous ARCA RE/MAX Series starts, both in '02, and finished 4th at Toledo and 1st at Berlin Raceway. Campbell is also a 10-time late model track champion at Berlin and will be racing at Berlin on Saturday night prior to Sunday's race. Kimmel and Tim Steele are the only former RE/MAX Series champions entered. Of all the entries, only Schrader and Kimmel are former ARCA RE/MAX Series winners at Toledo.
