Norfolk Southern Wins Quality Award From Toyota
NORFOLK, Va., April 30 -- Toyota Logistics Services has recognized Norfolk Southern Corporation with two awards for service excellence during 2002.
Toyota awarded Norfolk Southern its Logistics Excellence Award for superior quality performance among rail carriers. Among the criteria for selecting the winner is damage-free delivery of Toyota's vehicles to the marketplace. NS' record for defect-free delivery during 2002 was 99.81%. Since Toyota began presenting the award in 1996, NS has won five times.
In addition, Norfolk Southern received Toyota's on-time performance award for transportation service. This is the second time Norfolk Southern has won this award.
