    MANCHESTER, England--April 30, 2003--Honda Motor Company, Ltd. selected Teradyne Diagnostic Solutions as its primary diagnostic hardware supplier for their International Honda and Acura service dealerships. Teradyne's GDS3100 Diagnostic Tablet Tester is part of the next generation diagnostic solutions Honda is integrating into its service facilities worldwide.
    The Honda GDS3100 is equipped with a modular hardware design that provides each Honda service technician with custom diagnostic solutions and service information. All diagnostic steps or service instructions are easily accessible thru a 12.1" LCD and touch screen graphical interface. The operating system for the Honda GDS3100 is the Microsoft(R) Windows XP(R) software running on an Intel(R) Pentium III(R) processor.
    The Honda GDS3100 is fitted with Teradyne's Modular Instrumentation Bay, providing direct access to Honda systems as well as a variety of other communications protocols, a sophisticated analogue measurement system and multiple interfaces to the host hardware. Standard interfaces such as USB and 10/100BaseT Ethernet, plus the support for PC-card devices, ensure complete application flexibility and connectivity with other peripherals and systems. A docking station is available for storage of the Honda GDS3100 and provides automatic charging, connection to a network and access to a DVD drive. Designed with a customisable, open architecture test solution for automotive service applications, the Honda GDS3100 serves as the perfect compliment to Honda's global service database software program (HDS), also developed by Teradyne.
    The GDS3100 is part of a complete Teradyne diagnostic solution that consists of hardware, embedded system software and PC software designed to communicate with the vehicle system. The solution is based on a core of service diagnostic solutions developed by Teradyne Diagnostic Solutions.
