Team Gordon Offers Ultimate Motorsports Experience to Fans

Take one driver, two cars, two cities, and 1100 miles of racing in one day, and you've created the ultimate motorsports challenge. When that driver brings fans along for the ride you have given them the ultimate motorsports experience.

NASCAR Winston cup driver Robby Gordon will continue his quest to claim victory at both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25th, Memorial Day Weekend. Gordon, will run both events marking it the fourth time in his career he has attempted to complete the 1100-mile endurance journey. In 2002, he successfully completed "the Memorial Day Double" with an eighth place finish at Indy and a 16th place finish at Lowe's Motor Speedway. This year he hopes to better his results and wants racing fans from all around to experience the journey with him.

Gordon has put together what he calls "The Double Duty Tour". It is day-long trip that will provide motorsports fans the opportunity to witness two distinctively different forms of racing in one day; a 500 mile event utilizing open-wheel machines on a 2.5 mile low-slung four-corner oval, followed up by 600 miles of stock car thunder, muscling around on the 24 degree banking of the 1.5 mile tri-oval of Lowe's Motor Speedway.

The Double Duty Tour was created for those who love racing, regardless if the vehicle has fenders or not. For those that participate, the Tour will be an experience of a lifetime. Originating in Charlotte, N.C., planes, buses and most important, police escorts, help navigate Tour Fans through the logistical challenge of attending two races in two different places on the same day. Each fan gets transportation to and from the races, tickets for both events, souvenir gift-pack, a race scanner and some up close and personal time with Robby before the Indy 500. Robby wanted to make sure the package would put fans "in the middle" of the journey with him.

"Competing in both races is an opportunity that very few drivers will ever get", said Gordon who is no stranger to extreme racing. "This is an exciting experience for me, so I am sure that the fans that sign up will have a great time watching the both events unfold in person. Not many race fans would ever get this opportunity, so I am happy that we are able to make this trip possible."

"It was unbelievable", said Brain Sperber who attended last years inaugural event, "when we got to Charlotte after the Indy 500, we sat down in our seats as the green flag was dropping for the Coca-Cola 600. It was just an awesome experience!"
