Carlyle Management Group Names New CEO & CFO Of Recently Acquired Breed Technologies, Inc.
DALLAS, April 29 -- On Friday, April 25, Key Automotive Group L.L.C. (KAG), an affiliate of the Carlyle Management Group (CMG) completed its acquisition of Breed Technologies.
Effective immediately, Mr. B. Edward Ewing is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Breed Technologies, Inc. Mr. Ewing is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Key Plastics L.L.C., a leading global automotive plastic components supplier, and CEO of CMG.
Also effective immediately, Mr. Larry D. Schwentor is appointed Chief Financial Officer of Breed Technologies, Inc. Mr. Schwentor replaces Douglas Watts, who has left the company. Mr. Ewing said, "On behalf of Key Automotive Group, I would like to thank Mr. Watts for his leadership at Breed Technologies and I personally wish him all the best in his future endeavors." Mr. Schwentor most recently served as the CFO of Key Plastics.
Mr. Ewing added, "Breed has excellent technologies and products. Under the Key Automotive Group banner we will implement the financial and operational discipline needed to ensure that Breed remains an innovative, cost-competitive and financially-stable supplier of automotive safety systems to our customers around the world. "We will work with management to determine the organization of Breed, and we will announce any additional organization decisions no later than June 15," Mr. Ewing said.
William Bilkey, Jr., Stuart Boyd, Greg Heald, William Koerber, Kola Phillips, Larry Schwentor, and Craig White will report to Mr. Ewing.
