Vetronix Corp. Receives North American Frost & Sullivan Award

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 29 -- Frost and Sullivan today announced Vetronix Corp. as the recipient of the 2002 Strategic Alliance Leadership award by Frost & Sullivan in the North American commercial vehicle telematics market sector.

The award for Strategic Alliance Leadership was based upon the research on the North American commercial vehicle telematics market conducted by Alfonso Corredor, Industry Analyst, and Inge Matthey, Director from Frost & Sullivan.

This award signifies a company's strategic excellence in developing partnerships and alliances that result in better customer service, increased profit potential, improved corporate performance, and/or augmented market share. Analysts track all strategic alliance leadership in the industry through interviews with market participants, extensive secondary and financial research, and analysis of strategic alliance impacts on market position and corporate financial results.

The basis of the award is the landmark April 28th 2002 announcement of the Vetronix strategic alliance with IBM in the global commercial vehicle telematics market that created a powerful global product and marketing force.

Vetronix utilizes in-vehicle instrumentation, GPS, wireless and Internet connectivity technologies to create a comprehensive "end to end" telematics solution that interactively communicates between vehicles and remote users such as fleet managers, service outlets, and OEM engineering staffs.

In the alliance, Vetronix functions as the telematics service provider (TSP), while IBM's main role is service provision enabler. The main objective of the alliance is to create a "one stop shop" capability to deliver a commercial "end to end" telematics solution to global fleets, service outlets, and OEMs.

This innovative fusion of technology, infrastructure, and business relationships provides a powerful next-generation telematics solution to the commercial fleet market, creating a single resource, capable of delivering total solutions.
