Flip-Step(TM) SUV/Truck Hitch Accessory Awarded Patent

REDMOND, Wash., April 24 -- Nu-Tec Designs, LLC has been granted a patent for the Flip-Step(TM), an innovative hitch receiver LED brake/running light and flip down step combination. Selected by Motor Trend's Truck Trend Magazine as one of the top new product introductions for 2002 and acclaimed as "a well thought out solution to a common problem" the Flip-Step is designed to provide functionality, safety and added style to any vehicle with a hitch receiver.

The Flip-Step inserts into the hitch receiver providing a substantial, secure, anti-slip platform for accessing roof racks, truck beds and rear cargo areas of SUVs. When the step is flipped up the face of the step sports an LED array that functions as both a running and brake light. The light is wired to plug into the existing trailer wiring allowing for easy installation.

Beyond the LED array, what sets the Flip-Step apart from other hitch steps is the exacting engineering and quality with which it is made. Made of cast aluminum and coated with a durable powder coat, the Flip-Step is conservatively rated to 500 pounds for 2" hitch receivers and 300 pounds for 11/4" hitch receivers.

The Flip-Step is available in three sizes: SUV, Truck, and the "MAX" especially designed for the Hummer. The Flip-Step is currently available through quality catalogs, online retailers and automotive dealerships. SportRack Automotive of Sterling Heights, Michigan has licensed the rights to manufacture and distribute the Flip-Step to OEM customers and aftermarket retail outlets.
